Swim Team Update
Our next sign up was scheduled for April 11th . In light of the recent recommendations by the CDC, we are postponing that sign up. I encourage you to sign up using the on-line forms (see link below) if you know the size of your swimmer and can order a suit without coming in to try one on. If you need to order a suit, please know we are working on a way to make try-on sessions possible. I will keep you posted as we decide how best to do this with least exposure.
The Columbia Swim League (CSL) is closely monitoring this situation as it pertains
to a possible delay in beginning our summer swim meets. This information will be
communicated to everyone, as well.
Please know, all decisions being made are for the well-being of all of our members
as we try to stay within the recommendations from the CDC.
Nestled alongside Spring Lake, the Rockbridge Pool has plenty of pool-side seating or you can beat the heat on any of three adjoining wooden decks. The club has a pool house complete with a snack bar and changing areas for men and women, an outdoor shower, play field for pick-up summer sports and a wading pool for the little ones. The club provides your family with access to swimming lessons, diving lessons and summer swim team competition as well as hosting pool parties and cookouts for members and their families throughout the summer.
Monday-Thursday, 11 am-8 pm
Fridays, 11 am -9 pm
Saturdays, 10 am-9 pm
Sundays, Noon-8 pm
The pool closes at 4pm on days the swim team hosts home swim meets
It’s Time for Pool News!!
The countdown has officially started! Pool season is rapidly approaching and I am excited! We have a great summer ahead, but I need to focus this information on the start of SWIM TEAM!!
Volunteers!! We have many opportunities for you to be involved in the swim team experience. The more volunteers we have, to fewer times you will be asked. Kimberly Harrell has graciously agreed to help with the organization. There are a few positions for which you need to go to training & those are stroke/turn judges, meet referee and computer training.
Stroke & Turn training will be offered at USC on May 19th. This is an easy training program and a great way to be involved. I am investigating the possibility of having a training at RBC and will keep you informed.
Meet Referee will be offered May 26th at USC.
Starter I will get more information on this as well as the computer training.
TIMERS!! Keep in mind we always need timers and ribbon people.
Sign up – Forms are already posted online (see link above). Times for the second sign up day will be posted.
Coaching: We welcome back all of the coaches from last year! Hannah, Tanner, Darby, Ashleigh and Maddie are excited to work with our kids again!!
One final swim team note, we are very fortunate to have a healthy membership at Rockbridge. I have been approached by a few people regarding non-members swimming for our club. Please know this is just not possible. I appreciate the inquiries and invite any families to consider joining Rockbridge, to take advantage of all of the programs we offer at this great club!
As always, please contact me with any questions or concerns. I am looking forward to a great summer! More “pool” related info coming in the March newsletter!!
Rockbridge offers swimming lessons from Red Cross-certified instructors. Perfect your stroke or graduate from the dog-paddle with the help of small-group or private swimming lessons. For more information, contact Coach Hannah at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Make your party a special event at the Rockbridge pool. Parties can be held during regular hours Monday-Thursday or on Saturday mornings.
